The Betty Award 2026 is open for entries.
Submission Guidelines
- A writing contest for kids worldwide, ages 8-12.
- Entries must be typed and in English.
- Maximum story length is 1000 words.
- Entries can be fiction, non-fiction or poems.
- Kids may choose any topic, as long as it is age-appropriate.
- Entries must be the original, unpublished work of the child entering the contest.
Entry fee: $20 US reading fee per story
Prizes: 1st – $300 USD, 2nd – $200 USD, 3rd – $100 USD
Deadline: April 1, 2026
