The Briar Press Medieval Horror Novella Contest is open for entries.
Submission Guidelines
- Briar Press NY is looking for a Novella or Novellette in the Early Gothic (Medieval) tradition, previously unpublished and set from just after the Fall of Rome to about 1500
- 100 – 175 pp long (20,000 to 30,000 words)
- Excerpts may be previously published, but the whole book may not be
Entry fee: Free to enter
Prizes: Publication with Briar Press NY in early Winter 2027 as a gorgeously-designed glossy hardcover & e-book, Briar Press social media, Goodreads & Storygraph presence, marketing assistance and guidance, and standard author percentage of royalties
