The Chalk Circle Short Story Competition 2026 is open for entries.
Submission Guidelines
- Entries for the Chalk Circle 1500 Category must not exceed 1500 words, excluding title and headers and footers.
- This competition is open to anyone in the world over the age of 18 years, except present or past members of Chalk Circle Writers.
- Entries should be in the form of a short story, on any subject or genre, and written in English. Prose fiction only please – no poetry, plays, memoirs or children’s fiction.
- Any subject is suitable. Any genre except children’s fiction.
Entry fee: £5-£10
Prizes: A prize of £200 and your story published in full on their website.
