Submission Guidelines:

Here are some guidelines and what we’re looking for:

  • Interviews with authors
  • Book reviews
  • Blog posts on writing advice, tips
  • Posts on opportunities for writers, including: events, conferences, submission opportunities and writing contests

If you have written something else and if you think it’s a good fit, feel free to submit it and we will consider it. Unfortunately, we don’t accept fiction, creative non-fiction, or poetry. Instead, you can check out The Writing District Contest for short fiction submissions or our Resources page with the latest writing contest and magazine submission news.

Please email your submission to submissions@thewritingdistrict.com. Submissions are typically between 350 and 800 words. However, we will consider longer pieces of up to 2500 words. There is no submission fee.

Please send your entry as an attachment. We accept the following formats: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), Rich Text Format (.rtf), and OpenOffice/NeoOffice (.odt). Entries should be double-spaced.
