The 2025 Screenplay & Short Script Competition is now open.
Submission Guidelines
- The Scriptation Showcase is the screenwriting contest that circulates winners’ scripts to Hollywood directors, showrunners, and producers.
- The top twenty-five (25) scripts get an exclusive feature in Scriptation.
- All writers at least 18 years of age are eligible. However, a writer who has earned more than $50,000 (or equivalent currency) from professional writing services for film or TV in the preceding year is not.
- There is no limit to the number of projects you may submit.
- The recommended length for 1/2 hour teleplays are 25 – 35 pages.
- The recommended length for 1-hour teleplays are 55 – 70 pages.
- The recommended length for shorts are under 30 pages. The recommended length for feature film scripts is 80 -120 pages.
Judges: Sheryl Scot, Justin Vesci, Matthew Kellard, Trevor Kaufman, and Samuel Kochman.
Entry fee: $74 until the late deadline on June 22, 2025, and $79 until the final deadline on July 20, 2025. Short scripts receive a $5 discount.
Prizes:
- Top Prizes: $500 Cash, 1 Year Scriptation Showcase, 1 Year WriterDuet Pro, 6 Month Industry Pro Access, Virtual Group Meeting with Professional Film/TV Writers, One-on-one meeting with Film/TV Executive.
- Finalists: Showcase, 1 Year Scriptation Showcase, 1 Year WriterDuet Plus, 3 Month Industry Pro Access, Virtual Group Meeting with Professional Film/TV Writers.
Deadline: Final deadline on July 20, 2025.
