Our online writing classes include the following:
Depending on the class you take, there may also be an opportunity for peer critique and discussion of a particular topic. Please visit the relevant class page and listing to see what is included in each class.
The writing classes do not run in real time, so you do not have to be online at a particular time. New lessons become available each Tuesday but you can read the lesson and complete the assignment any time during the week. You will have seven days to complete the weekly assignment and return it for feedback.
When a new week begins, you will still be able to access the lessons from the previous weeks. At the end of the class, you’ll receive an email with a copy of your assignments and weekly feedback.
An online class is flexible and allows you to participate at any time, from anywhere in the world.
You don’t need a lot of technical know-how to take a class. All you need is reliable internet access. Our classes are user-friendly and The Writing District team is available to help.
You’ll receive written feedback from your tutor once a week.
You don’t need previous writing experience or study to take our classes. We offer classes for writers of various levels, for beginners as well as writers with experience.
If you’ve read the class outlines and are not sure which class to take, you can contact us here and we’ll be happy to help you choose the best class for you.
Fees must be paid in full before the class starts. If you need to withdraw from a class, please contact us at least one week before the class starts. We can then provide a refund, less a $25 administration fee.
If you withdraw from the class less than one week before the class starts, unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund.
If you wish to withdraw from a class, please email us at [email protected] Informing a tutor does not constitute withdrawal.
The Writing District reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. If we cancel a class, students will receive a full refund.
There will be writing assignments to work on every week. Students can expect to spend two to three hours every week on the class.
You can pay by card by visiting the relevant class page and purchasing the class. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club debit and credit cards.
If you can’t find an answer to your question, please use our Contact Form. We will respond within 24 hours.
