The Writing District Magazine is a space for writers and readers to share their writing stories, book reviews, author interviews, writing advice, and more. 

Submission Guidelines:

Here are some guidelines and what we’re looking for:

  • Tell us about you and your writing. Your story could be about the following: Tell us about your success (or failure) stories! Where do you get your inspiration from? What does writing mean to you? How has it impacted on your life?
  • Interviews with authors
  • Book reviews
  • Writing advice, tips 
  • If you have written something that doesn’t necessarily fit into the above category and if you think it’s a good fit, feel free to submit it and we will consider it.  

Please send your entry as an attachment. We accept the following formats: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), Rich Text Format (.rtf), and OpenOffice/NeoOffice (.odt). Entries should be double-spaced. Font: Use Courier or Times New Roman, 12 point. Please also include your full name, the title of your submission and up to 200 words of a bio. All submissions should be the writer’s original work. 

All submissions will be read by The Writing District staff. We will contact you by email if your piece has been accepted for publication.

Please email your submission to submissions@thewritingdistrict.com. Submissions are typically between 350 and 3000 words. There is no submission fee. Please do NOT submit short fiction to this email address. For short fiction submissions (up to 3,000 words), check out our Monthly Writing Contest. Please follow the Monthly Writing Contest guidelines when submitting short fiction and send short fiction submissions to competition@thewritingdistrict.com.

One last thing! Please read the copyright notice before you submit a piece. Submission indicates acceptance of our terms.
